The Hercules Charity Pull took place at RAF Brize Norton on 5 April 2022, raising money for two extremely deserving charities.
Supporting the Royal Air Forces Association and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, this event also provided a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with a C-130J aircraft prior to retirement in March 2023.
Teams of 20 personnel from the Station Ground Engineering Flight, 2 Force Protection RAF Regiment, 47 Air Despatch Squadron (Royal Logistic Corps), No. 47 Squadron, Tactical Med Wing, 1 Air Mobility Wing and a Station hybrid team led by the Station Commander, Group Captain Emily Flynn, competed against each other to pull a 47 tonne C-130J Hercules a distance of 100 metres in the fastest time.
Despite some tough competition, No. 47 Squadron won the challenge with a time of 46.95 secs.
