New Venue for Junior Ranks to Enjoy Opens at RAF Brize Norton

A new exciting entertainment venue for Junior Ranks has opened at RAF Brize Norton. ‘The Aviators’ is now open to all Junior Ranks on Station as a location for them to enjoy brand new facilities outside of work.

The Aviators has undergone extensive renovation to provide a new modern venue for Junior Ranks to enjoy, with help from several areas of the RAF Brize Norton community bringing the project together.

The project formed part of the Brize Pride scheme, enabling personnel to take action to improve those locations on Station they use regularly, including office space, socialising locations, or areas of public use.

The Station Commander, Group Captain Emily Flynn said:

“It’s great to see The Aviators open after the huge collaborative work that’s gone into making it happen. The Junior Ranks Committee have worked hard to bring this project to completion, drawing on other areas of Station to get stuck in and help, including the Padres who have been helping with some of the infrastructure”

There are new facilities for users to enjoy, including a Junior Ranks only 24/7 Ante Room and newly refurbished outdoor space.

Corporal Joseph Palfreyman is the Junior Ranks Committee Chairman and said:

“It’s a fantastic redeveloped venue available for not only the Juniors on Station but also for any section to book out and use for a function. The project started because the space was deemed in need of modernisation and we’ve had help from all levels to make it happen. We can’t wait for people to start using the space and enjoy themselves”
