Congratulations to Sylvia Trapp on her 100th Birthday

We’d like to send our congratulations to Sylvia Trapp who celebrated her 100th Birthday this week.

Sylvia was a Leading Aircraftwoman WRAF radar and wireless operator who worked at RAF Swinderby in the Operations Support Role.  RAF Cranwell Station Commander and Station Warrant Officer made a surprise visit to Sylvia on her birthday, to wish her a very Happy Birthday from everyone at RAF Cranwell and presented her with gifts from the Station.

Group Captain (Dr) Joanne Campbell said:

“It was an absolute honour to visit Sylvia and to help mark her Centenary; it is incredible to think that Sylvia and her Colleagues laid the foundation for the Operations Support Profession as we know it today, and the profession I’m proud to be part of”.
