We were delighted to see the return of the Annual Formal Reception this week whereby the Station officially hosts invited guests from our local community and wider region.
Station Commander Group Captain Dutch Holland said:
We are honoured to host the Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, Lady Clare of Euston, and it is my privilege to welcome to RAF Honington guests from across our local community. We hope to re-establish relationships and friendships post-Covid and continue to be a force for good in Suffolk and play a full and active part in our local communities.
Those invited support RAF Honington and our Service community in many forms from very understanding local landowners, emergency services and teachers, to charities, cleaners and contractors; their assistance is essential in the smooth operation of the Station.
Guests were treated to a traditional sunset ceremony with music from the RAF Honington Voluntary Band, before the Ensign Lowering ceremony concluded the evening with a flypast from 2 AH-64 Apache helicopters courtesy of Wattisham Air Station.
Thank you to all attendees, guests and hosts and to the September sun for making an appearance earlier in the evening.
