RAF Honington welcomed both old and new friends to our Annual Formal Reception yesterday evening whereby the Station officially hosts invited guests from our local community and wider region.

I am honoured to welcome our guests to RAF Honington for our Annual Formal Reception – our opportunity to strengthen existing friendships, to make new friends, and to update everyone on the Station’s achievements over the last 12 months. Being known and understood by the community and society that we serve is essential, and I’m proud of RAF Honington’s outstanding reputation throughout Suffolk.

This annual event is the Station’s chance to share with our community what we’ve been up to, both on a local and global scale, and also what we have planned for the future. As always we have been exceptionally busy in this our 85th year of the Station supporting Operations all around the world and closer to home with community events and civic engagements including the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

We continue to be one of the largest employers in Suffolk and most of all we thank our local community for supporting us whether it be on the sidelines at local parades or understanding whilst the Apache’s are training overhead and the live firing is disturbing their peaceful weekend.

Those invited support RAF Honington and our Service community in many forms from very understanding local landowners, emergency services and teachers, to charities, cleaners and contractors; those whom assistance is essential in the smooth operation of the Station.
