I am immensely proud that RAF Honington, including the Kings Colour for the RAF Regiment, is parading in our home town of Bury St. Edmunds for Remembrance today.  We are honoured to parade alongside past, present and future generations of the Armed Forces and our United States Air Force friends, as together we remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our countries and in pursuit of freedom.

The parade was led by the RAF Honington Voluntary Band and paraded the King’s Colour for the RAF Regiment, alongside fellow Armed Forces contingents, Veterans and Cadets.

A fly past included Apaches from 3 Regiment Army Air Corps at Wattisham, before the Service at the War Memorial was followed by a march past en-route to St Mary’s Church.

Station personnel will also participate in acts of Remembrance across the region today, laying wreaths in over 20 of our local towns and villages as well as participating in the annual Remembrance Day Parade at the Cenotaph in London.

Personnel from RAF Honington participate in acts of remembrance of varying size and scale across the region. Some will be part of the formal parades, others will lay wreaths at over 20 small village memorials in our local community and many more will observe Remembrance individually.  Regardless of role or function, it is a privilege for the Station to represent the serving community in any capacity and an honour to commemorate all those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice in Service of our country.
