RAF Honington has given a warm welcome to Air Commodore Kevin “Chesh” Cowieson in his new post as ‘Air Officer Airbases’.
The visit was his first chance to see not just RAF Honington Station, but also the key components of the Air Security Force and the Combat and Readiness Force. He was joined by Group Captain Fred Wigglesworth, Station Commander RAF Marham.
His tour of the Station included visiting the Complex Air Ground Environment Training Facility before visiting the Force Protection Centre where he saw the wide variety of training delivered to the wider RAF as well as RAF Police and RAF Regiment specialists.
Air Cdre Cowieson’s current position as Air Officer Airbases is the new 1* post within 2 Group responsible for leading and directing airbases such as RAF Honington across the 2Gp and wider Royal Air Force.
