Mr Ian Watkins presented at this year’s Operation FLAMENCO and the Emergency Planning Officer for East Midlands.

We believe it has ongoing significance, we have representatives from five police response teams, predominantly specialising in major crime and counter terrorism.

This Operation is carried out every three years and is of great benefit to both forces. Present at the event were civilian Police Forces from around Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands area. In addition, RAF Military Police Wings from RAF Coningsby, RAF CranwellRAF Digby, and RAF Waddington all attended, each bringing a breadth of experience and challenges to develop the scenarios.

It’s about having and building that understanding between the police and military bases in times of threat or insolence around key military bases.
