The Future Accommodation Model (FAM) Pilot offers the MOD an ideal opportunity to establish how best to change the accommodation offer. Critical to its success is the management information collected, which allows the MOD to learn and to adapt the FAM Offer.
Having listened to your feedback over the first year of the FAM Pilot at RAF Wittering, from 12 Jul 21, the eligibility criteria will change; these changes are below:
- Eligibility - Future Availability Date (FAD) - reduced from 12 months to 6 months.
- Eligibility - Length of Service (LOS) - reduced from 4 years to 1 year.
- New financial contribution for Mid-Assignment Move into PRS or Own Home.

By refining and improving FAM Pilot policy, the MOD can continue to trial the impact and benefits of different policies, so that when FAM rolls out to the rest of the Defence community, it will be tried, tested and fit for purpose.
