Flying Scholarships with the RAF Association

For over 11 years, the RAF Association has been running its Flying Scholarship programme for the Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC) and the Girls Venture Corps Air Cadets (GVCAC). In 2016, the Association opened up the scheme to include members of the Air Scouts/ Air Explorer Scouts.

The Flying Scholarship award is presented each year as a thank you to members of the RAFAC (which includes the Air Training Corps and the Combined Cadet Force), GVCAC and Air Scouts/Air Explorer Scouts for their continuous support to the RAF Association.

One winning candidate is rewarded with a course of 35 hours flight training in a light aircraft, and the course covers all or part of the tuition needed to obtain a Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL). Six runners-up receive 12 hours training each.

Applications for the 2019 scholarships will now be accepted up until 13 February 2019 and full details are on the RAF Association website linked below:
