The RAFs bespoke alumni organisation has been nominated for six awards this year, including five categories for the Global Alumni Awards and is a finalist for the highly prestigious Diversity and Inclusion category of the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards.
Royal Air Force Galaxy is the first alumni organisation dedicated to one of the services and is forging the way for our sister services that are following suit.
Conceived in September 2021 RAF Galaxy is a fully inclusive community of people with a shared experience of service in the Royal Air Force. RAF Galaxy recognises the unique strengths that alumni have and can bring back to the service if they choose to return. Galaxy allows us to communicate with all our service personnel no matter what stage of their career they are in, serving, ex-serving or reserve, and create greater sense of belonging and cohesion between all members.

An integral part of ensuring people leave the service as well as they join, RAF Galaxy ensures support continues whether that is for health, both physical and mental, career mentorship, or to maintain contacts with colleagues and friends in a safe, secure environment. It unites serving, ex-serving, and reserves into one coherent service, providing a unique community dictated by the needs and requirements of its users.
RAF Galaxy has been nominated for five awards in the Enterprise Alumni Global Alumni Awards for their growth since launching in July last year, including categories for Launch of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and Alumni Culture and Community which recognises the thriving and growing community that RAF Galaxy represents. We are honoured that Galaxy has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Diversity and Inclusion category of the British Ex-Forces in Business Award which recognise the importance of ex-military in second careers and the companies that support them.
The Global Alumni Awards are due to be held on the 8th of June 2023 in New York and the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards will be on the 29th of June in Grosvenor House in London.
