63 Squadron RAF Regiment

History

1943   Formed as a light anti-aircraft unit.

1943   Deployed to Italy.  

1945   Deployed to France and Germany.

1946   Became a field squadron.

1974   Equipped with the Rapier anti-aircraft missile system.

1982   Deployed to the Falklands as part of 5 Brigade.

1990   Squadron number taken up by the King's Colour Squadron.

2003   Deployed to Iraq.

2009   Deployed to Afghanistan.
