Apprentice of the Year for Survival Equipment Specialist

Since qualifying as a Survival Equipment Specialist, Senior Aircraftman Watt has excelled in her chosen trade, showing both her effective intelligence and her engineering skill set.  Since quickly and efficiently completing her apprenticeship, she has undertaken a Defence Workplace trainer course that has allowed her to pass on her knowledge to new team members.

Despite being a junior member of the team, SAC Watt is an excellent role model and ambassador for both the Survival Equipment Specialist trade and the wider RAF.  Not only has she successfully supported numerous exercises, including assisting in the preparation and planning prior to deployment, she has been critical to the Station delivering numerous other activities.  Crucially, SAC Watt has supported the flying of over 2250 cadets and young people during the Scottish Cadet Muster and RAF Benson Youth Muster.

She will be presented with her award of RAF Apprentice of the Year in the Survival Equipment Specialist trade by the Air Officer Commanding No 22 (Training) Group at a special ceremony in RAF Wittering this evening.
