At a small gathering, Group Captain Burdett - Commander Air Wing, presented the prestigious award to Corporal Lee, which was created in fond memory of Warrant Officer Mac Peace, who was Warrant Officer VC10 & TriStar Maintenance School (VCTMS) 1998 – 2004.

Corporal Lee Receives 2022 Best Student Award

Undertaking the B-type course before the Foundation course, Corporal Lee was at a disadvantage compared to other students. However, he showed that with dedication and attention to detail, the B-type course could be accomplished first. During the Foundation course he excelled during lessons which were outside his trade. He achieved this by actively participating in classroom discussions and leading revision sessions with other students, in order to assist them through the course. He applied the knowledge gained on the B-type, which added relevance to the subject, to better aid comprehension for other students.

Flight Lieutenant Oderinde, Officer Commanding Maintenance Training School said:

"Corporal Lee has effectively demonstrated the positive attitudes of resilience and adaptability in order to achieve this respected award. Furthermore, his desire to assist other students using his expert knowledge was observed, impressive and acknowledged by XXIV Squadron instructors".
