Sergeant Day has been the operational lead for the test, evaluation and embodiment of the A400M Atlas Maintenance Data System (MDS), the A400M’s primary airworthiness data management tool. Working alongside two civilian colleagues in team ‘Brightspark’, Ed has personally corrected new processes, identified and implemented new and improved ways of working.

“I felt very humbled when my line manager told me I had been nominated, and to actually win the Engineer of the Year Award I feel very proud. Without the team working together, we would have not achieved half as much.”
