HALTON PREPARES 600 AVIATORS FOR THE CORONATION MAY 2023

Royal Air Force aviators are in the final stages of preparing their contribution to the ceremonial element of His Majesty the King’s Coronation.

RAF Halton has trained over 600 personnel for 10 straight days, including rehearsals taking place through the night.

This week saw the final preparations for the RAF contribution, which will also see the Coronation of Her Majesty The Queen Consort. The procession will escort Their Majesties from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey and then return to Buckingham Palace after the Coronation Service.

RAF Halton Station Commander expressed his pride in hosting hundreds of personnel for the several days of rehearsals preceding the momentous occasion, Gp Capt Fergus Garwood said “The Station is incredibly honoured to play its part in Their Majesties’ Coronations. Our whole force team has come together spectacularly in the past 10 days to accommodate, feed, train, and support the RAF contingent’s preparations. The honour we feel collectively is immense.”
