RAF Valley STEM event

RAF Valley held a fun filled STEM activities event for local school children.

Children from Year 5 and 6 joined together from across six Welsh Primary schools, to engage in STEM activities hosted by RAF Valley.

The event was overseen by the RAF Youth STEM Team, across a action packed two days.

The children tested their engineering, mathematical and scientific skills that are transferable to a successful aviation career, through various activities. This included coding and building of Lego Spike Prime robots, MTa building and designing, and flying planes and rockets.

Below one of the 'mini engineers' trials the flying abilities of his model aircraft, pitting its aerodynamic flight skills.
