The lockers will be used to secure specialist aircrew equipment safely.

Project AEA offers digital lockers to enable 24/7 access to aircrew equipment assemblies, for example flying clothing and helmets, for servicing by the Survival Equipment Specialists.

Aircrew operating hours, including rest periods, are very strictly controlled.  This, combined with maintaining essential skills such as night flying, can mean aircrew are not always able to deliver their equipment to the specialists for servicing.

This trial will provide suitably secure locations for the drop-off and collection of aircrew equipment assemblies, enabling specialists and aircrew to work seamlessly together despite different shift patterns.

This trial will commence shortly and intends to demonstrate a step-change in the servicing process with a positive impact on duty hours for aircrew.
