100 years of the RAF
On 1 April 2018, the Royal Air Force celebrated its 100th birthday.
To mark this occasion, we reflected on our history and our achievements. We also celebrated the work we are currently doing and looked forward to the next 100 years.

The centenary was marked by months of special events and activities across the UK and overseas, including the Centenary Baton Relay visiting 100 sites associated with the RAF in 100 days.
The RAF100 Aircraft Tour gave members of the public a chance to get up close to RAF aircraft and technology in Cardiff, London, Newcastle (Northern Ireland), Birmingham, Glasgow, and Manchester.
The centrepiece celebration was a centenary service in Westminster Abbey, followed by a parade on The Mall and a spectacular flypast of 103 aircraft over Buckingham Palace watched by tens of thousands of people.
