Control & Reporting Centre Boulmer underwent a software upgrade to ensure the Control & Reporting Centre Resilience Entity and National Air & Space Operations Centre (NASOC) are all operating on the same software version, which will allow all users to fully exploit the world leading integrated GUARDIAN System. Our ability to successfully deploy personnel to the Resilience Entity and continue to provide the highest level of sustained operations and operator training, demonstrates an extra layer of capability and resilience in UK Air Defence.

Demonstrating our commitment to our NATO allies, a full-scale practice scramble was conducted on 7 February where a Quick Reaction Alert Interceptor from RAF Lossiemouth was scrambled, in response to a simulated Russian fighter Jet approaching UK airspace. This whole force response from 19 Squadron, 78 Squadron, Engineering Wing, Quick Reaction Alert and the NASOC demonstrates the RAF remains at the highest level of readiness and will continue to work with our NATO partners in order to intercept any unidentified military or civilian aircraft and protect the UK’s area of interest.
